Bleak House is one of Charles Dickens most unrelenting assaults upon the legal profession - full of bite and acid humor that makes the current TV darling, Boston Legal, look like a fairy tail ... uhh drat make that tale.

Bleak House is another production by the BBC which is showing on PBS. The show is now available on DVD. Bleak House sticks the maudlin that is a Dickensian tale inevitably right in the ass - and hypercharges it with stunning movement, fast cut away action, narcisstically compelling characters, much dissimulation and dare I say reasoned emotion that is scintillating as it is historically true. Be prepared for Dickens served up as well as Nicholas Nickleby a decade or more ago.
