It is ironic that announcement by the IPCC-Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change that global warming was indeed caused by Man while its effects and risks were increasing with passage of every year - all this was said when North America, the Global Warming elite dissenters continent, was suffering the second week of a bitter continent-wide cold spell.
This is the Report:

Be forewarned - this is a document produced by an Intergovernmental Panel of hundreds of experts. It is just the Executive Summary. It is intended to state the case on a complex subject to prove as concisely as can be done with the evidence at hand. In short it is not a compelling or stirring account such as Al Gore's movie An Inconvenient Truth.

Nonetheless the report has undeniable cadence because the same basic panel said the following over the past 20 years:
- In 1990 the panel said there is undeniable evidence for global warming but whether it was natural or man-made could easily go either way;
- In 1995 the panel was less equivocal on causation saying that there is discernible evidence of human influence;
- In 2001 the panel raised human cause to 66% to 90% certainty while documenting wider repercussions and consequences;
- In 2007 the latest report increases human cause of global warming to 90-99% certainty and spells century long effects.
Like Ravel's Bolero the warning become more certain, more encompassing, and more urgent.

And so like Holocaust Deniers, detractors of global warming are reduced either to dysfunctional denial or disruptive tactics like unrealistic minimization of consequences or claiming to be the champions of groups who will be impacted or have to make major sacrifices ("we denied it for you, now we are the ones to best protect any or all of your threatened interests"). Like the wicked problems of energy independence, declining non-renewable resources, and rising disparity between rich and poor - Global Warming has already attracted its fair share of conmen and grifters determined to stake their claim to influence the redistribution of resources engendered by the problem - however that influence/control may be achieved.
