The Everest Dictionary is a free dictionary that looks like any other - simple word look up and meaning supplied. Besides its green and small barely taking 1/4 of the screen. Then you discover all the supporting dictionary tools:
English Acronyms - an imposing list from AA to ZULU
English Antonyms and Synonyms
English Bible names - from Aaron to Zuriel
English Hypernyms - think of synonyms on steroids

And then a set of Translation dictionaries:
English French Standard
English German Large Standard
English Italian Standard
English Portugese
English Romanian Large Standard

French German Standard
et cetera, et cetera.

And all of this wealth of knowledge is available for free download from here. The download is not small, close to 80MB, but the results are stunning. Just select the dictionaries you want active - enter a word and Everest gives all the meaning depending on how many dictionaries you have loaded. So Everest gets used all the time whenever I am translating from Acronymese to English. Also I have been translating some English poems to French, to the bemusement of my niece, but my own satisfaction. And Gemutlichkeit now has a more certain meaning in the Surveyer household. In short - Everest is a delight. And then if you press the Game button it becomes Wordcrafting fun as well.
